Concord, NH – Attorney General John M. Formella and Derry Police Chief George Feole announce that John Kratz, age 28, has been indicted by the Rockingham County Grand Jury in connection with the death of John Kratz, Jr., age 64, on May 17, 2023.
Mr. Kratz was indicted on one count of second-degree murder for knowingly causing the death of his uncle, Mr. Kratz, Jr., by shooting him in the head with a firearm, and one alternative count of causing Mr. Kratz, Jr.’s death under circumstances manifesting an extreme indifference to the value of human life by shooting him in the head with a firearm.
Mr. Kratz continues to be held without bail. An arraignment will be scheduled in the Rockingham Superior Court at a future date.
The charges and allegations against Mr. Kratz are merely accusations, and he is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
