Mrs. Damato-Coe's body was found inside her home on the late evening of August 3, 2023, in Danville by officers responding to a 911 call for help. Upon arrival, officers discovered Mrs. Damato-Coe deceased inside her home. The following day an autopsy by Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Jennie Duval determined that the cause of Mrs. Damato-Coe's death was multiple gunshot wounds, and the manner of her death was homicide.
