Disclosure of the Name of the Manchester Police Officer Involved in a Shooting Incident in Manchester, New Hampshire
Concord, NH – New Hampshire Attorney General John M. Formella announces the identity of the Manchester Police Department officer involved in the shooting incident on Sunday, March 26, 2023, in Manchester, New Hampshire that resulted in the injury of Waleed Al-Thulwayni, age 18.
The officer who discharged his weapon was Sergeant Derek Feather, who has approximately 19 years of law enforcement experience. He has been with the Manchester Police Department since 2004.
The exact circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation. It is anticipated that the report regarding whether Sergeant Feather's use of deadly force was justified will be released once the investigation is completed, and the pending charges against Mr. Al-Thulwayni are complete. No further updates are expected until the report is released.
