Concord, NH – Attorney General John M. Formella and Nashua Police Chief Kevin Rourke announce that an autopsy was completed today on the body of Lee Knoetig, age 53.

The autopsy was conducted by Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Jennie V. Duval. Dr. Duval determined that the cause of Mr. Knoetig's death was a gunshot wound to the chest, and the manner of death was homicide.

Alexander Wheeler (age 19) of Nashua, New Hampshire, has been arrested and charged with one count of second-degree murder for recklessly causing the death of Mr. Knoetig under circumstances manifesting an extreme indifference to the value of human life, by shooting him.

It is anticipated that Mr. Wheeler will be arraigned in Hillsborough County Superior Court in Nashua on Monday, August 8, 2022, at a time to be scheduled by the Court.

The charge and allegations against Mr. Wheeler are merely accusations, and he is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
