Nathan Albertson Sentenced to 13-30 years in Conspiracy to Sell Fentanyl

Concord, NH – Attorney General John M. Formella, New Hampshire Department of Corrections Commissioner Helen Hanks, and United States Drug Enforcement Administration Special Agent-in-Charge Brian D. Boyle, announce that Nathan Albertson has pleaded guilty and been sentenced for his role in a conspiracy to introduce fentanyl into New Hampshire for distribution.

On November 5, 2021, Nathan Albertson, age 38, of Berlin, New Hampshire, was sentenced in the Coos County Superior Court to 13 – 30 years stand committed in the New Hampshire State Prison, with 5 years suspended from the minimum sentence for a period of 12 years, conditioned on Mr. Albertson's good behavior and that he not refuse to furnish or substantially delay furnishing a urine/breath sample upon demand while incarcerated, that he not alter/attempt to alter any urine/breath sample by providing an adulterated or diluted sample while incarcerated; that he not switch or substitute urine/breath samples while incarcerated, and that he not have any illicit substances in his blood, breath, or urine while incarcerated.

Mr. Albertson was indicted in February of 2020 on a charge of conspiracy to sell a controlled drug, subsequent offense. The charge was brought after law enforcement learned that Mr. Albertson, while incarcerated at the New Hampshire State Prison for a drug-related crime, introduced several paroling inmates and an outside criminal acquaintance to Mr. Albertson's former fentanyl supplier, located in Haverhill, MA. Those individuals subsequently met with the fentanyl supplier and purchased large quantities of fentanyl for redistribution within New Hampshire.

The investigation and resolution of this case are the result of the collaborative efforts of the New Hampshire Attorney General's Office, the New Hampshire Department of Corrections, and the United States Drug Enforcement Administration.
