Indictment of Hassan Sapry for the Murder of Wilfred Guzman
Concord, NH – Deputy Attorney General Jane E. Young announces that Hassan Sapry (age 23), formerly of Laconia, New Hampshire, has been indicted by the New Hampshire Multicounty Grand Jury in connection with the death of Wilfred Guzman (age 58) on April 18, 2019, in Laconia, New Hampshire.
Mr. Sapry was indicted on one count of first-degree murder for purposely causing the death of Wilfred Guzman by beating and cutting his head and neck multiple times, and one alternative count of second-degree murder for recklessly causing his death under circumstances manifesting an extreme indifference to the value of human life by beating and cutting his head and neck multiple times. Mr. Sapry was also indicted on one count of falsifying physical evidence.
Mr. Sapry continues to be held without bail. His arraignment on the indictments is scheduled for May 12, 2021, in the Belknap County Superior Court.
The charges and allegations set forth in the indictments are merely accusations, and Mr. Sapry is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
