Brandon Barlow Arrested for Dispensing Drugs that Caused the Death of Matthew Bailey

Concord, NH – Deputy Attorney General Jane E. Young and Merrimack Police Chief Brian Levesque announce that Brandon Barlow, age 33, of Nashua, NH, was arrested today on charges of causing the death of Matthew Bailey, age 25, of Chester, NH, on March 5, 2018, by dispensing or selling him the controlled drug fentanyl, which he then injected, inhaled, or ingested, resulting in his death.

Mr. Barlow was arrested for Acts Prohibited, Death Resulting, contrary to RSA 318-B:26, IX. The potential sentence for this charge carries a possible maximum term of imprisonment for life in the state prison with the possibility of parole. Mr. Barlow was also charged with Sale of a Controlled Drug, contrary to RSA 318-B:2. The maximum sentence for this charge is up to 7 years in the state prison, and a $100,000 fine.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office assisted the Merrimack Police Department in making this arrest. Mr. Barlow will be arraigned on these charges on March 9, 2021, in the Hillsborough County Superior Court (Southern District).

The charges and allegations are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
