Autopsy Results in the Hollis Homicide Investigation

Concord, NH –Attorney General Gordon J. MacDonald, New Hampshire State Police Colonel Christopher J. Wagner, and Hollis Police Chief Joseph Hoebeke announce that autopsies were conducted on Brian McDonough (age 51) and Alisa Mayo (age 41), who were discovered dead inside the same residence in Hollis, New Hampshire, on March 30, 2019.

Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Jennie V. Duval has determined that the cause of Ms. Mayo's death was a gunshot wound to the head, and the manner of her death was homicide. Dr. Duval has determined that the cause of Mr. McDonough's death was a gunshot wound to the head, and the manner of his death was suicide.

Although the investigation into the circumstances surrounding these two deaths remains active and ongoing, at this point in the investigation it appears that Mr. McDonough shot and killed Ms. Mayo, and then shot and killed himself. The two were known to one-another, and their bodies were discovered by police during a welfare check of the residence in which they were found.
