Sentencing in connection with the November 3, 2015 murder of Michael Pittman in Manchester, New Hampshire (State v. Paulson Papillon)

Attorney General Gordon J. MacDonald and Manchester Police Chief Enoch F. Willard announce that Paulson Papillon was sentenced today in connection with the murder of Michael Pittman, which occurred in Manchester, New Hampshire on November 3, 2015. Mr. Pittman was shot and killed outside his home on Manchester's West Side, and after trial a jury convicted Papillon of Second-Degree Murder and Conspiracy to Commit Murder for Mr. Pittman's death.

The Court imposed a sentence of 33 years to life in prison on the murder charge, and a consecutive sentence of 10 years to 30 years in prison on the conspiracy charge. Both sentences will run consecutive to a prison sentence that Papillon is currently serving on a felony drug possession charge, as well as another prison sentence that Papillon has yet to serve on charges arising from his scheme to smuggle contraband into prison.

The successful prosecution of this case would not have been possible without the diligent efforts of investigators from the Manchester Police Department, whose work in gathering evidence and securing witnesses continued up to the trial's conclusion.
