Indictment of Joshua Day for Possession of Carfentanil and Cocaine
on March 26, 2017

New Hampshire Attorney General Gordon J. MacDonald and Rochester Police Chief Paul Toussaint announce the indictment of Joshua Day, formerly of Milton, for Acts Prohibited relating to his possession of the controlled drugs carfentanil and cocaine.

On March 26, 2017, Day's possession was discovered by members of the Rochester Police Department in Rochester. Officers were called to a gas station in Rochester for a report of possible drug use. Once there, officers had contact with Day who had the carfentanil and cocaine on his person. Day was indicted for his March 26th offenses on June 16, 2017 by the Grand Jury sitting in Strafford County for possessing both carfentanil and cocaine. Day is not charged with having the intent to sell either drug.

Day was arraigned on these charges on June 21, 2017 in the Strafford Superior Court.

The New Hampshire Office of the Attorney General has been actively investigating and prosecuting the sale and possession of carfentanil cases throughout the State for the past several months.

The charges and allegations in the indictments are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
