New Hampshire Attorney General Joseph A. Foster, Colonel Christopher J. Wagner of the New Hampshire State Police and Durham Police Chief David Kurz announce that the autopsy has been completed on Michael Barrett.

Michael Barrett was found dead at 18 Edgewood Road, in Durham in the early morning hours of March 11, 2017. Deputy Chief Medical Examiner, Dr. Jennie Duval conducted an autopsy on Mr. Barrett's body this morning. Dr. Duval determined that the cause of Mr. Barrett's death was a stab wound. The manner of his death was determined to be homicide.

The investigation is continuing to determine the circumstances of Mr. Barrett's death. While the circumstances are still under investigation, part of the investigation includes whether this incident involved the use of self-defense.
