Arrest in Wentworth, New Hampshire, Murder Case

New Hampshire Attorney General Joseph A. Foster, New Hampshire State Police Colonel Christopher J. Wagner, and Wentworth Police Chief Wallace Trott announce that an arrest has been made in the murder of Todd Downing (age 60).

Thomas E. Corliss (age 30), was ,arrested today and charged with Second-Degree Murder, for recklessly causing the death of Todd Downing, under circumstances manifesting an extreme indifference to the value of human life, by physically assaulting Downing multiple times.

Downing had been found injured at his home at 234 Atwell Hill Road in Wentworth on November 23,2016. He was treated at the scene and later died at a local hospital. An autopsy was done, which determined that his cause of death was blunt impact injuries and that his manner of death was homicide.

Mr. Corliss will be arraigned late this afternoon at the 2nd Circuit - District Division Court in Plymouth, New Hampshire.

The Merrimack County Sheriff s Office also provided significant assistance with the arrest today.
