Death Investigation in Effingham, New Hampshire

New Hampshire Attorney General Joseph A. Foster, New Hampshire State Police Colonel Christopher Wagner, and Effingham Police Chief Timothy Butts announce that they are currently investigating the death of Robert Dishman (age 63) on November 28, 2016. Mr. Dishman died at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center as a result of injuries sustained during an incident that occurred at 4 Am's Way in Effingham, New Hampshire, at approximately 11:00 a.m. on November 28, 2016.

This afternoon, Deputy Chief Medical Examiner Jennie D. Duval, M.D., conducted an autopsy on Robert Dishman's body. Dr. Duval determined that the cause of Mr. Dishman's death was a single gunshot wound to the chest, and that the manner of his death was homicide.

The investigation into the facts and circumstances surrounding Robert Dishman's death is ongoing. While no arrest has been made, based upon the investigation thus far, there does not appear to be an ongoing threat to the general public. Anyone with information concerning the investigation is encouraged to contact Sergeant Justin Rowe of the New Hampshire State Police at (603) 223-8849.
