Death Investigation in Hooksett, New Hampshire

Attorney General Joseph A. Foster, State Police Colonel Robert L. Quinn, and Hooksett Police Department Chief Peter Bartlett announce that additional information is available regarding the discovery of a deceased female in Hooksett, New Hampshire.

On Tuesday, February 25, 2014, at approximately 12:07 p.m., a man walking through the woods discovered a female's body in Hooksett, New Hampshire. That discovery was made in the woods behind the Cinemagic Movie Theater at 1226 Hooksett Road, in Hooksett. The man called 911 and notified authorities about his discovery. Police and EMS responded, confirmed the female was dead, and commenced an investigation into the circumstances of the death.

As part of the investigation, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner completed an autopsy today on the decedent. The decedent's cause and manner of death have not been definitively determined and are pending additional studies.

When the decedent was found, she had no identification on her person. Investigators eventually determined that she lived in the area and have identified her as 42 year old Cindy Bowdoin, of Hooksett, New Hampshire. It appears that she was last seen alive on Monday morning, February 24, 2014.

The circumstances that led to Ms. Bowdoin's death are still under investigation.
