Attorney General Seeks Volunteer Consumer Affairs Specialists for its Consumer Protections Hotline

Concord, NH – Attorney General John M. Formella announced today that his office is accepting applications for volunteers to work as Consumer Affairs Specialists in the Consumer Protection Bureau and Antitrust Bureau (CPAB).

Consumer Affairs Specialists work closely with attorneys and support staff to respond to calls on the consumer protection hotline. This rewarding opportunity will provide volunteers with the chance to use their valuable life and work experiences to make a difference in the lives of New Hampshire consumers who have been victimized by unlawful business practices. Consumer Affairs Specialists have been a part of the CPAB's efforts for many years and are vital to the Attorney General's mission to enforce state consumer protection laws and provide callers with basic information their rights and options as New Hampshire Consumers.

Adults of all ages are encouraged to apply.  Volunteers will be asked to commit to 4-6 hours per week for a minimum of one year. All necessary training and mentorship will be provided. Successful candidates must pass a background check and have excellent interpersonal skills. Experience interacting with the public is a plus but is not required.

Anyone interested in learning more about this volunteer opportunity may contact the Consumer Protection and Antitrust Bureau at (603) 271-3641 or visit the Department of Justice website at https://www.doj.nh.gov/consumer to fill out an application form.
