Arrest of Brandon Mitchell for the Murder of Esmae Doucette

Concord, NH – Attorney General John M. Formella, State Police Colonel Nathan Noyes, and Jackson Police Chief Christopher C. Perley announce that Brandon Mitchell, age 22, of Jackson, New Hampshire, has been arrested for the murder of Esmae Doucette, age 23, also of Jackson.

At approximately 7:24 PM on November 30, 2022, Jackson Police were dispatched to a reported gunshot injury at the Dana Place Apartments on Route 16. Upon arrival they found Ms. Doucette suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Ms. Doucette was transported to Memorial Hospital in North Conway where lifesaving measures were attempted; however, she eventually succumbed to the gunshot wound and was pronounced deceased on December 2, 2022. As a result of the investigation into the circumstances of the shooting of Ms. Doucette, an arrest warrant was obtained charging Mr. Mitchell with one charge of Second Degree Murder, contrary to New Hampshire RSA 630:1-b, I(b). Mr. Mitchell is alleged to have recklessly caused the death of Ms. Doucette under circumstances manifesting an extreme indifference to the value of human life, by shooting Ms. Doucette with a firearm.

Mr. Mitchell is expected to be arraigned on December 5, 2022, in the Carroll County Superior Court, at a time to be determined.

The charges and allegations against Mr. Mitchell are merely accusations, and he is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
