Concord, NH – Attorney General John M. Formella and Manchester Police Chief Allen Aldenberg announce that Stephanie Beard has waived her right to an arraignment. As such, the arraignment scheduled for 1:00 p.m. will not take place. Ms. Beard has agreed to be held without bail, and reserves the right to request a bail hearing at a later date.
Ms. Beard has been charged, via complaint, with one count of second degree murder for causing the death of John Glennon by stabbing him with a large knife, and one count of theft by unauthorized taking for exercising unauthorized control over Mr. Glennon's car.
The charges and allegations are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
