Sentencing of Jaiden Ciruzzi for the Murder of Ian Jewell in Goffstown, New Hampshire

Concord, NH – Attorney General John M. Formella announces that Jaiden Ciruzzi (age 20), was sentenced today for killing Ian Jewell (age 18).

On November 19, 2017, Mr. Ciruzzi shot and killed Ian Jewell during the commission of a gunpoint robbery planned and executed by Mr. Ciruzzi. Mr. Ciruzzi was subsequently arrested for Ian Jewell's murder, and on March 8, 2022, he pleaded guilty to reckless second-degree murder.

At today's sentencing hearing, upon hearing arguments from the parties, the Court imposed a sentence of 34 years to life in the state prison, with the possibility of sentence reductions should Mr. Ciruzzi attain specified behavior and educational goals.

This case was prosecuted by Senior Assistant Attorney General Peter Hinckley and Assistant Attorney General Nicholas A. Chong Yen of the Criminal Justice Bureau, and was investigated by the Goffstown Police Department and the New Hampshire State Police Major Crime Unit.
