Disclosure of the Name of the New Hampshire State Police Trooper Involved in the Shooting Incident in Walpole, New Hampshire

Concord, NH – New Hampshire Attorney General John M. Formella announces the identity of the New Hampshire State Trooper involved in the shooting incident on Saturday, February 20, 2022, in Walpole, New Hampshire that resulted in the death of Christopher Tkal, age 57.

The trooper who discharged his weapon was Trooper Noah Sanctuary, who has approximately 14 years of law enforcement experience.

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation. It is anticipated that the report regarding whether Trooper Sanctuary's use of deadly force was justified will be released once the investigation is completed. No further updates are expected until the report is released.
