Arrest Made in Orford Homicide

Concord, NH – Attorney General John M. Formella and State Police Colonel Nathan Noyes announce that an arrest has been made in connection with the suspicious death investigation in Orford, New Hampshire.

Today, November 20, 2021, at approximately 12:27 p.m., officers from the Hanover Police Department responded to 329 Route 10 in Orford, New Hampshire for a reported homicide at the residence. The deceased female resident has been identified as Brooke Goodrich, age 25. It is anticipated that an autopsy will be conducted on Ms. Goodrich on Sunday, November 21, 2021.

Lance Goodrich, age 35, of Lyme, New Hampshire has been arrested and charged with one count of second-degree murder for knowingly causing the death of Ms. Goodrich by shooting her, and one count of second-degree murder for recklessly causing the death of Ms. Goodrich under circumstances manifesting an extreme indifference to the value of human life, by shooting her. Brooke Goodrich was Lance Goodrich's cousin. Mr. Goodrich was taken into custody at approximately 4:30 p.m., on November 20, 2021, at 95 Barton Whitney Road in Newport, New Hampshire.

It is anticipated that Mr. Goodrich's arraignment will be conducted on Monday, November 22, 2021, at Grafton County Superior Court in North Haverhill.

The charges and allegations contained therein are merely accusations, and Mr. Goodrich is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
