Arrest Made in Connection with Suspicious Death Investigation in Nashua

Concord, NH – Attorney General John M. Formella and Nashua Police Chief Michael Carignan announce that an arrest warrant was issued for Jacob Abraham (age 27) of 22 Auburn Street, Nashua, New Hampshire, charging him with second-degree murder. The second-degree murder charge alleges that Mr. Abraham recklessly caused the death of his grandmother, Cynthia Toupin (age 71), by causing blunt force trauma to her head and/or a puncture wound to her neck, manifesting an extreme indifference to the value of human life.

Mr. Abraham was arrested on this warrant this evening by the Lowell Police Department in Lowell, Massachusetts. Mr. Abraham has been charged with being a Fugitive from Justice in Massachusetts and will be arraigned on Monday, November 8, 2021, in the Lowell District Court. No time has been set for the arraignment.

An autopsy will be conducted on the body of Ms. Toupin by the State of New Hampshire Office of the Chief Medical Examiner on November 7, 2021, to determine the cause and manner of death.

The charge against Mr. Abraham is merely an accusation, and Mr. Abraham is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Based on information currently known to investigators at this time, there does not appear to be any danger to the public. The investigation is ongoing and additional information will be released as it becomes available while protecting the integrity of the investigation.
