Concord, NH – Attorney General John M. Formella, New Hampshire State Police Colonel Nathan Noyes, and Seabrook Police Chief Brett Walker announce the arrest of Garrito Fort (age 37) in connection with the ongoing suspicious death investigation in Seabrook.

At approximately 9:03 A.M. on November 1, 2021, Seabrook Police received a 911 phone call directing them to 19 Boynton Lane for a reported shooting. On arrival, officers discovered one adult male deceased in the driveway outside the home, and a second adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. A third male, Garrito Fort, initially fled the scene and was later located.

Mr. Fort has been charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm pursuant to New Hampshire RSA 159:3, for knowingly owning or having in his possession a pistol after having been convicted of a felony. Mr. Fort is scheduled to be arraigned via a WebEx hearing in Rockingham Superior Court at 1:00 PM.

Investigators have identified all of the involved parties in the shooting and are actively investigating the details of this incident, including the potential claim of self-defense.

Additional evidence is not expected until after the autopsy today. Additional information will be released as it becomes available while protecting the integrity of the investigation.

The charge filed is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
