Attorney General's Response to Bedford Officials' Letter to 2020 General Election Absentee Voters

Attorney General John M. Formella has released a letter to Bedford election officials regarding correspondence sent to Bedford voters regarding uncounted 2020 General Election absentee ballots. A copy of that letter and attachments can be found below. A copy of the Bedford Election officials' letter to voters is also below.

In addition to Bedford, after the November 3, 2020 General Election, the Secretary of State and Attorney General were notified that two other towns found absentee ballots that were submitted to the towns by election day but were not counted. These towns were Merrimack and Nottingham. Merrimack found three Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act ("UOCAVA") absentee ballots that were received by the Merrimack Clerk's Office in election day mail that were inadvertently not delivered to the moderator at the polls on election day. Nottingham found three absentee ballot envelopes that were received by the Nottingham Clerk's Office which were taken to the polls on election day, but inadvertently not opened and counted at the polls on election day. The Attorney General's Office also investigated both of these matters. The final determination letters on these investigations can be found below.
