Arrest of James Brooks and Katelyn Lake for Methamphetamine Sales

Concord, NH - Attorney General John M. Formella announces that James Brooks, age 37, and Katelyn Lake, age 26, both of Wakefield were arrested on July 28, 2021, for sales of methamphetamine.

Mr. Brooks is charged with three counts of sale of methamphetamine, subsequent offense and Ms. Lake is charged with one count of sale of methamphetamine, subsequent offense. Mr. Brooks has a prior drug conviction in the Carroll County Superior Court on September 5, 2017. Ms. Lake has a prior drug conviction in the Carroll County Superior Court on December 3, 2018.

A search warrant was also executed which led to the seizure of additional drugs and instrumentalities of drug distribution.

Mr. Brooks and Ms. Lake were both arraigned on July 28, 2021, in the Carroll County Superior Court. Both were held on preventative detention.

The arrests are the result of a multi-month investigation by the Attorney General’s Drug Task Force. Members of the New Hampshire State Police and the Wakefield Police Department assisted the Task Force with the arrests.

The charges and allegations against Mr. Brooks and Ms. Lake are merely accusations and they are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
