Concord, NH – Attorney General John M. Formella announces that Vincent Chaney, age 48, of Manchester, was found guilty of one count of possessing crack cocaine with intent to sell in a quantity of five grams or more, subsequent offense, and seven counts of being a felon in possession of a firearm. The guilty verdicts were returned by a petit jury after a two-day trial in the Hillsborough County Superior Court-Northern District.

The charges against Mr. Chaney stem from the execution of a search warrant at his Manchester residence on January 31, 2020. During the search, over 76 grams of crack cocaine and seven loaded firearms were located. Mr. Chaney had been previously convicted of felony drug and shoplifting offenses.

Mr. Chaney faces a potential maximum penalty of up to life imprisonment for the subsequent offense possession with intent to sell crack cocaine charge. Mr. Chaney faces an extended term of imprisonment of up to 10-30 years at the New Hampshire State Prison for each of the seven felon in possession of a firearm offenses. Mr. Chaney continues to be held without bail pending a sentencing hearing.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant Attorney General Meghan Hagaman of the Criminal Justice Bureau – Drug Unit. The investigation into this matter was conducted by members of the Manchester Police Department, the New Hampshire Insurance Department, and the New Hampshire Attorney General's Office.
