Autopsy Results in May 28, 2021 Concord Homicide

Concord, NH -- Attorney General John M. Formella and Concord Police Chief Bradley Osgood announce that the autopsy was completed on Marlene Couture, age 78, who was killed at her residence at 71 S. Spring Street in Concord on May 28, 2021.

Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Jennie V. Duval has determined that the cause of Ms. Couture's death was ligature strangulation.  Dr. Duval concluded that the manner of her death is homicide.

Philip Couture, age 77, of Concord, New Hampshire has been charged with two counts of second-degree murder in connection with Ms. Couture's death, and one count of second-degree assault.  It is anticipated that Mr. Couture's arraignment will be conducted on Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at Merrimack County Superior Court in Concord. 

The charges and allegations contained therein are merely accusations, and Mr. Couture is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
