State v. Vincent Chaney

Concord, NH - Deputy Attorney General Jane E. Young and Manchester Police Chief Allen D. Aldenberg announce that Vincent Chaney, age 47, has been indicted by the Hillsborough County Grand Jury for possession of crack cocaine with intent to sell or dispense in a quantity of five grams or more, as a subsequent offense. Mr. Chaney was also indicted for seven counts of being a felon in possession of a firearm.

The charges against Mr. Chaney stem from the execution of a search warrant by law enforcement on January 31, 2020, at Mr. Chaney's residence in Manchester. Mr. Chaney was arrested on the aforementioned charges by members of Manchester Police Department on October 10, 2020.

Mr. Chaney faces a penalty of life imprisonment for the subsequent possession with intent to sell or dispense crack cocaine, a special felony. Mr. Chaney faces penalties of up to 3½-7 years for each of the seven firearms offenses, which are class B felonies, subject to an extended term of imprisonment of up to 10-30 years.

Mr. Chaney is presently being held without bail pursuant to New Hampshire R.S.A. 597:1-c. 

The charges and allegations are merely accusations, and Mr. Chaney is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.

Assistant Attorney General Shane Goudas and Assistant Attorney General Meghan Hagaman, of the Criminal Justice Bureau Drug Unit, are prosecuting this case.
