Voter Alert: Goffstown-Manchester Mailer about Change in Polling Place

Concord, NH – Attorney General Gordon J. MacDonald announces the following voter alert.

The Attorney General's Office was notified by the Manchester City Clerk's Office of a mailer received by a Manchester resident that was sent by the Town of Goffstown.

The mailer contains a notice specific to Goffstown District #5 voters stating that their polling location has moved to Mountain View Middle School, located at 41 Lauren Lane in Goffstown, New Hampshire.

This Office has confirmed with the Goffstown Town Clerk that the mailer is legitimate and the information on the new location for the polling place is correct.

The problem with the mailer is that it was sent to Manchester households near the Goffstown-Manchester line because that area is covered by a United States Postal Service delivery route that overlaps with Goffstown. As a result, the delivery of the mailers went to all the recipients along that shared delivery route, and not just to the Goffstown residents.

This Office confirmed with representatives of the United States Postal Service, as well as the mailing house who facilitated delivery of the mailer, that the mailer did go to some Manchester residents.

Manchester residents who received this mailer should disregard it.

If a voter wants to confirm the polling place he or she should vote in, please check using the Secretary of State's website: https://app.sos.nh.gov/Public/PollingPlaceSearch.aspx
