Damien Seace Arrested for the Murder of Jennifer Burpee

Concord, NH – Attorney General Gordon J. MacDonald and Manchester Police Chief Carlo T. Capano announce that Damien Seace (age 35) has been arrested for the murder of Jennifer Burpee (age 45) in Manchester, New Hampshire on Tuesday, July 23, 2019.

On Tuesday, July 23, 2019, Manchester police officers responded to a reported domestic disturbance at Apt #708, 55 Amory Street in Manchester. A 9-1-1 call was made from the residence in which a female caller said that "Damien" was pounding on her door. Upon arrival, officers discovered the resident, Ms. Burpee, deceased inside her apartment. Shortly thereafter, officers discovered her boyfriend, Mr. Seace, hiding in the apartment bathroom.

Mr. Seace has been arrested on alternative counts of knowing and reckless second-degree murder for killing Jennifer Burpee by inflicting blunt force trauma to Ms. Burpee's body with a piece of furniture.

Mr. Seace is being held awaiting arraignment. His arraignment is currently scheduled for Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. in Hillsborough County Superior Court – Northern District in Manchester. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has scheduled Ms. Burpee's autopsy for Thursday, July 25, 2019.

All parties involved in this incident have been identified by the Manchester Police Department. Anyone in the area of 55 Armory Street between 8:30 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 23, 2019, who may have seen or heard any part of this event is encouraged to call the Manchester Police Department Detective Unit at (603) 668-8711.

The charges and allegations are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
