State v. Spencer Grayson

Concord, NH – Deputy Attorney General Jane E. Young and Concord Police Chief Bradley Osgood announce that on Thursday, June 27, 2019, Spencer Grayson, age 23, formerly of Concord, New Hampshire was sentenced by the Merrimack County Superior Court to an aggregate sentence of 8½ - 20 years, stand committed, in the New Hampshire State Prison.

On April 29, 2019, Mr. Grayson had previously pleaded guilty to one count possession of controlled drug and four counts of sale of a controlled drug, all as subsequent offenses. These offenses occurred in July and September of 2017.

One count of sale of a controlled drug stemmed from Mr. Grayson's sale of fentanyl to Ryan Smith, age 21, on July 25-26, 2017. Mr. Smith later died at Concord Hospital after ingesting a fatal amount of the drugs fentanyl and methamphetamine behind the Cumberland Farms located at 196 North Main Street in Concord, New Hampshire. In addition, the charge of possession of a controlled drug stemmed from Mr. Grayson possessing fentanyl on July 25-26, 2017.

The remaining three charges of a sale of a controlled drug stemmed from Mr. Grayson selling methamphetamine and/or fentanyl on three separate occasions in September of 2017.

In addition to the stand committed sentence of 8½ - 20 years, Mr. Grayson was also sentenced to two 5–10 year terms at the New Hampshire State Prison for selling methamphetamine and/or fentanyl on two separate occasions. Those 5-10 year sentences are suspended for ten years from the date of his release and conditioned on good behavior, completion of drug treatment programming and fulfillment of his sentencing obligations.
