Further Information Involving Individuals at the Officer-Involved Shooting at the Quality Inn on March 27, 2019 in Manchester, New Hampshire

Concord, NH – New Hampshire Attorney General Gordon J. MacDonald, New Hampshire State Police Colonel Christopher Wagner, and Manchester Police Chief Carlo T. Capano announce additional information concerning the officer-involved shooting incident at the Quality Inn at 55 John Devine Drive in Manchester, New Hampshire on March 27, 2019.

As reported earlier today, there were two individuals barricaded in a first-floor room at the hotel throughout the night and into today. Over the course of more than twelve hours, Manchester Police officers attempted to speak with those individuals and seek a peaceful resolution to the situation. Instead, at least one of the individuals in the room fired multiple gunshots out of the room over a nine-hour timespan. Earlier today, members of the Nashua Police Department SWAT team began assisting the Manchester Police officers. At approximately 10:15 a.m., Nashua Police officers were able to make entry into the first-floor room. Once inside, they discovered the two individuals were deceased. The identities of the two individuals is being withheld at this time pending the notification of the next of kin.

None of the law enforcement officers involved in this incident have suffered any physical injuries.

Investigators will be processing the area in and around the Quality Inn for several days.

This is an unfolding investigation and additional information will be provided as soon as possible while still protecting the integrity of the investigation. We expect to be able to conduct a press briefing at 2:00 p.m. today at the Manchester Police Department.

If anyone has any information about this event, they are asked to call Sergeant Matt Amatucci of the New Hampshire State Police Major Crime Unit at 603-419-8291.
