Arrest of Matthew Fay for December 2018 Murder Committed in Hillsborough, New Hampshire

Concord, NH – Attorney General Gordon J. MacDonald, New Hampshire State Police Colonel Christopher J. Wagner, and Hillsborough Police Chief David Roarick announce that an arrest has been made in connection with a December 2018 stabbing death in Hillsborough, New Hampshire.

On Saturday, December 22, 2018, Hillsborough police responded to 25 Old Henniker Road, #1, in Hillsborough, where they located a deceased adult male inside a trailer. That male was later identified as Brett Wilson (age 51). An autopsy subsequently confirmed that Mr. Wilson died as a result of stab wounds and his manner of death was ruled a homicide.

On Thursday, March 28, 2019, Matthew Fay (age 28), of Hillsborough, New Hampshire, was arrested on a second-degree murder charge for recklessly causing the death of Mr. Wilson, under circumstances manifesting an extreme indifference to the value of human life, by stabbing him multiple times. Mr. Fay will be arraigned on that charge at the Hillsborough County Superior Court – Northern District on Friday, March 29, 2019, at 1:30 p.m.

The charge is merely an accusation and Mr. Fay is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
