Suspicious Death in Amherst, New Hampshire

Attorney General Gordon J. MacDonald, New Hampshire State Police Colonel Christopher J. Wagner, and Amherst Police Chief Mark O. Reams announce that an investigation is currently ongoing into a suspicious death of an adult male in Amherst. The investigation is being conducted by the Attorney General's Office, in conjunction with the State Police Major Crime Unit and the Amherst Police Department.

Identification of the deceased individual is being withheld until his next of kin can be notified. An autopsy will be performed Friday morning by the New Hampshire Chief Medical Examiner's Office.

There is no evidence to suggest that there is a threat to the general public. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
