Additional information regarding October 21, 2018 double-homicide in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire

Concord, NH – Attorney General Gordon J. MacDonald, New Hampshire State Police Colonel Christopher J. Wagner, and Wolfeboro Police Chief Dean J. Rondeau announce additional information concerning an incident that occurred on Sunday, October 21, 2018, in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire.

On Sunday, October 21, police officers responded to a 911 call from a single-family home at 10 Lakeview Drive in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire. Upon arrival, officers discovered two adult residents of the home who were suffering from apparent gunshot wounds, Kris Dube (age 36), and his girlfriend Kathleen Moran (age 36). Mr. Dube was pronounced dead at the scene. Ms. Moran was taken to a hospital where she later died. Autopsies on both confirmed that they were victims of a homicide and had died from gunshot wounds.

Soon after the murders, Kathleen Moran's estranged husband, Kevin Moran (age 41) of Ossipee, New Hampshire, was identified as the suspect in the murders. The investigation revealed that Mr. Moran had been unhappy with Ms. Moran's recent relationship with Mr. Dube and had threatened them both. The next day after the murders, Mr. Moran checked himself into a hospital and remained hospitalized until Tuesday, October 30, 2018. During that time, Mr. Moran was aware that the homicide investigation had made significant progress and was focused on him as the suspect.

On the evening of October 31, 2018, Mr. Moran messaged family members and then shot and killed himself in a vehicle outside his home in Ossipee. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner conducted an autopsy yesterday afternoon and confirmed that Mr. Moran's cause of death was a single gunshot wound and his manner of death is suicide.

Based on the physical evidence collected during the investigation, phone records, and interviews, law enforcement officials are confident that Kevin Moran is the person who shot and killed Kris Dube and Kathleen Moran.

Further information will be released as it becomes available.
