Arrest Made in Relation to Exeter Fire and the Death of Carol Felides

New Hampshire Attorney General Gordon J. MacDonald, State Police Colonel Christopher Wagner, Exeter Police Chief William Shupe, and Director J. William Degnan of the State Fire Marshal’s Office announce that Derek William Webber, age 31, of Exeter has been arrested on charges of second degree murder and arson in connection with the death of Carol Felides.

At approximately 4 a.m. on Tuesday, June 19, 2018, authorities responded to a fire at the Hayes Mobile Home Park in Exeter. Carol Felides, age 65, was found deceased inside her mobile home at 66 Hayes Park.

For the past week, members of the State Police, the Exeter Police Department, the State Fire Marshal's Office, and other law enforcement partners have worked almost around the clock investigating the facts and circumstances of the fire at 66 Hayes Park and Ms. Felides's death. This exhaustive investigation led to the arrest of Mr. Webber earlier today.

It is anticipated that Mr. Webber will be arraigned tomorrow in the Rockingham Superior Court. No further information will be available until after the arraignment.

Anyone with information about the fire or Mr. Webber’s actions and whereabouts between June 18th and June 23rd is asked to contact Detective Sergeant Matt Amatucci of the State Police Major Crime Unit at (603) 419-8291.
