Homicide in Rochester, New Hampshire

Attorney General Gordon J. MacDonald and Rochester Police Chief Paul Toussaint announce that they are investigating a homicide that took place in Rochester overnight.

Around midnight last night, Rochester police officers responded to the area of South Main Street for a reported shooting incident. That incident apparently involved two groups of people. Upon arrival, the officers discovered three adults, including an adult female with an apparent gunshot wound. That female was transported to a local hospital where she later died. Her identity is being withheld pending notification of her next of kin. An autopsy is expected later today to determine the exact cause and manner of her death. No one else is believed to have been injured during the incident.

The incident is still under investigation. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Detective Geoff Moore at the Rochester Police Department at (603) 330-7140.
