Indictments filed in connection with June 1, 2016 shooting incident in Manchester, New Hampshire

New Hampshire Attorney General Gordon J. MacDonald and Manchester Police Chief Enoch F. Willard announce that charges have been filed in connection with a shooting incident that occurred on June 1, 2016 in Manchester, New Hampshire.

On June 1, 2016, Manchester police officers responded to the report of a shooting in the parking lot at the back of a building located at 135 Spruce Street in Manchester. When officers arrived, they discovered that Ashley Thompson (age 25) had been shot and suffered a non-life threatening leg wound. Nearby, the police found Hans R. Odige (age 35) of Manchester, deceased on the ground. An autopsy later confirmed that Mr. Odige died as a result of a single gunshot wound.

After an intensive investigation, the Manchester Police Department identified a suspect in the shooting. That suspect, John Gebo (age 31), has now been charged in the Hillsborough County Superior Court - Northern District, with Knowing Second-Degree Murder for causing the death of Hans Odige and First-Degree Assault for wounding Ashley Thompson.

Mr. Gebo has waived indictment on the Murder and First-Degree Assault charges and is expected to be at the Hillsborough County Superior Court - Northern District, on September 13, 2017 at 10:00 a.m., to resolve those charges. He is currently incarcerated on other criminal charges.
