Statement Regarding League of Women Voters of New Hampshire, et al./New Hampshire Democratic Party v. William M. Gardner, Secretary of State and Attorney General Gordon J. MacDonald

The New Hampshire Department of Justice has received two separate complaints filed in Hillsborough County Superior Court - Southern District (Nashua) challenging the constitutionality of Senate Bill 3. That bill was passed by the legislature and subsequently signed into law by Governor Sununu on July 10, 2017. Senate Bill 3, like any statute, is presumed to be constitutional. The Department of Justice will defend it vigorously and we are confident it will be sustained.

At this juncture, there will be no further statements regarding this pending litigation.
