Disclosure of the names of the Keene police officers from the July 10, 2017 officer-involved shooting incident in Keene, New Hampshire

Attorney General Gordon J. MacDonald and New Hampshire State Police Colonel Christopher J. Wagner announce the names of the three officers from the Keene Police Department involved in the shooting incident on July 10, 2017, in Keene, New Hampshire, that resulted in the non-fatal shooting of Patrick Letendre(age 28).

The two officers who discharged their weapons were Sergeant Christopher Simonds who has approximately sixteen years of law enforcement experience and Police Officer Mark Cotton who has approximately three years of law enforcement experience. Police Officer Matthew Bomberg who has approximately six years of law enforcement experience also was present at the time of the shooting but did not discharge a weapon.

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident remain actively under investigation. It is anticipated that a preliminary report regarding whether the officers' use of deadly force was justified will be released once the investigation is completed.
