Update regarding December 10, 2016, incident in Dover, New Hampshire

New Hampshire Attorney General Joseph A. Foster and Dover Police Department Chief Anthony F. Colarusso, Jr., announce that additional information is available regarding the incident that occurred in Dover on Saturday, December 10, 2016.

On Saturday, police responded to a 911 call at 92 Three Rivers Road in Dover. When police arrived, they found John Davis (age 76), injured, with several gunshot wounds. Police later entered the Davis home at 92 Three Rivers Road and found Brenton Davis (age 55), deceased. Brenton Davis is John Davis's son.

Although the investigation is still in its early stages, it appears that the incident began when Brenton Davis shot his father several times. John Davis managed to retrieve a shotgun and returned fire, wounding Brenton. Then, John Davis left the home and called 911. No one else was in the Davis home during the incident except John and Brenton Davis. Brenton Davis has a history of mental health issues.

An autopsy was conducted on Brenton Davis today. His cause of death was a shotgun wound and the manner of death was homicide.

The investigation into this incident is active and ongoing. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Dover Police Department at 603-742-4646.
