Untimely Death Investigation in Berlin, New Hampshire

New Hampshire Attorney General Joseph A. Foster, New Hampshire State Police Colonel Christopher Wagner, and Berlin Police Chief Peter Morency announce that they are currently investigating the death of a 2½-year-old child in Berlin, New Hampshire over the weekend. The child, Madison Dana, was at home on York Street in Berlin when 911 was called around 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 27, 2016. The child, Madison Dana, was transported to Androscoggin Valley Hospital where she was later pronounced dead in the early evening.

An autopsy was conducted this morning on Madison Dana by Deputy Chief Medical Examiner Jennie V. Duval, M.D. Dr. Duval has ruled the child's manner of death as a homicide, with the cause of death as blunt impact injuries.

The child was residing at her home at 109 York Street in Berlin at the time 911 was called.

The investigation into the facts and circumstances of the child's death remains active.
