Arrest of Amy Matton for Selling a Drug that caused the Death of Bryant Lausberg in Dover on May 29, 2016

New Hampshire Attorney General Joseph A. Foster, Dover Police Chief Anthony Colarusso, Jr., and Portsmouth Police Chief David Mara, announce the arrest of Amy Matton, age 38, of Portsmouth for Acts Prohibited relating to the sale of the controlled drug methadone.

On November 21, 2016, Matton was arrested by members of the Portsmouth Police Department, with the assistance of Dover Police Department, for multiple sales of methadone, one of which caused the death of Bryant Lausberg on May 29, 2016. The Dover and Portsmouth Police Departments, with the assistance of the Drug Enforcement Administration, have been actively investigating this case since Lausberg's death. The sale which led to Lausberg's death carries a possible maximum sentence of life in state prison with the possibility of parole.

Matton was arraigned at the Portsmouth District Court on November 21, 2016. She was held pending probable cause hearing and presumption hearing without bail. Both hearings have been scheduled for December 5, 2016 at 1:00 pm at the Portsmouth District Court.
