Licensed Nursing Assistant Pleads Guilty to Sexual Assault of Patient

Attorney General Joseph Foster announces that Timothy Morrissey of Manchester, New Hampshire, plead guilty and was sentenced on a misdemeanor charge of Sexual Assault. Mr. Morrissey admitted that while he was working as a Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA), he used his mouth to suck on the breast of a 79-year old woman who suffered from Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease. Because he committed the crime with the intent of taking advantage of her age, he was subject to an extended term of imprisonment.

Timothy Morrissey was sentenced to a 1½ to 5 years stand committed in the New Hampshire State Prison. He will be evaluated for sex offender treatment while at the prison and will be required to register as a sex offender upon release from incarceration. As part of the plea, Mr. Morrissey may not reinstate his LNA license and may not seek employment in the care of the elderly, disabled, or children.

The Goffstown Police Department assisted with this investigation.
