Attorney General Joseph Foster announces that Aaron Firman has been convicted of Prohibited Acts Relative to Public Assistance to Blind, Aged, or Disabled Persons, a Class A Felony. Mr. Firman, while acting as the power of attorney for his father, Charles Firman, failed to disclose $15,859.04 to the Department of Health and Human Service's Medicaid Department when applying for Medicaid on behalf of his father. These funds, if reported to Medicaid, would have impacted Charles Firman's Medicaid eligibility.

As a result of a negotiated plea agreement, Aaron Firman was sentenced to a 12 month House of Corrections sentence. The sentence was suspended for two (2) years conditioned on good behavior, completion of 50 hours of community service, and payment of restitution. Mr. Firman was ordered to pay restitution to the Medicaid Program in the amount of $8,213.80.
