Ongoing Investigation in Homicide of Denise Robert

New Hampshire Attorney General Joseph A. Foster and Manchester Police Chief Enoch F. Willard announce that the autopsy has been completed on Denise Robert, age 62. Chief Medical Examiner Doctor Thomas A. Andrew determined that the cause of Robert's death was a single gunshot wound. The manner of her death was homicide.

The investigation to date has revealed that Ms. Robert left the Executive Health and Sports Center on Highlander Way at approximately 6:00 p.m.; she checked out at Vitamin Shoppe on S. Willow Street at approximately 6:08 p.m.; she checked out at Wal-Mart on Keller Street at approximately 7:07 p.m.; and she checked out at the Hannaford's on John Devine Drive at approximately 8:21 p.m. Thereafter, she parked her copper-colored Volvo S60 with dealer plates in the Brookside Congregational Church parking lot at the corner of Elm and Clarke Streets. She was known to frequent that neighborhood to walk.

At approximately 9:00 p.m., the Manchester Police Department received a 911 call reporting a person in the road. Officers responded to the area of Ray and Carpenter Streets. When they arrived, they discovered Ms. Robert in the road deceased.

The investigation also revealed that a loud firecracker-type noise was heard and a pickup truck was seen quickly leaving the area. Police continue to work to locate the pickup truck and speak with its driver. The witnesses interviewed at this time describe the pickup and the driver as: a dark colored pickup truck driven by a white male in his 20s to 30s, with short, cropped hair.

Ms. Robert was wearing white New Balance sneakers, white jean-type shorts with a white belt, and a long-sleeved, white and dark purple (almost black) striped shirt.

Anyone in the areas where Ms. Robert traveled who has a home security or video surveillance system is asked to review the tapes to determine if Ms. Robert, her vehicle, or the pickup truck was captured.

Anyone who saw Ms. Robert last evening or who saw the pickup truck/driver described by the witnesses or who has any information regarding Ms. Robert's murder is asked to call the Manchester Police Department at (603) 668-8711 or anonymously at Manchester Crimeline at (603) 624-4040.
