Untimely Death Investigation in Pelham

New Hampshire Attorney General Joseph A. Foster, Colonel Robert Quinn of the New Hampshire State Police, and Pelham Police Chief Joseph A. Roark announce that an investigation is ongoing into an untimely death in Pelham, New Hampshire.

Late Wednesday evening, May 6, 2015, a 911 call was made for an injured male from a home on Sherburne Road in Pelham, New Hampshire. First responders arrived and found the adult male suffering from what appeared to be a head wound. He was transported to Southern New Hampshire Medical Center where he was later pronounced deceased.

The deceased male has been identified but his name is not being released at this time pending notification of his family members. He was a full-time police officer with the Nashua Police Department, and 23-years old. He had been with the department for two and a half years.

An investigation is ongoing into the circumstances that led to the officer's death. However, the death is not suspicious, does not involve a firearm, and appears accidental on his part. An autopsy will be scheduled for later on today to determine his cause and manner of death.

The investigators will be at the Sherburne Road address this morning finishing up their work. Therefore, the public is being asked to avoid Sherburne Road during their morning commute.

No further news releases are anticipated until the autopsy results are available.
