Settlement Reached with Jeffrey Gould d/b/a North Country Medi-Van

Attorney General Joseph A. Foster announces that the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit (MFCU) of the Department of Justice has reached a settlement with Jeffrey Gould d/b/a North Country Medi-Van to resolve allegations that Mr. Gould submitted claims to the Medicaid program for wheelchair van services between 2009 and 2013 without maintaining adequate records to support the claims. As part of the settlement in this matter, Mr. Gould will pay a total of $75,885 in restitution and investigative costs. Mr. Gould d/b/a North Country Medi-Van no longer provides Medicaid services.

The Medicaid program is a joint federal and state healthcare program which provides benefits to qualified individuals. The MFCU investigates and prosecutes both civil and criminal healthcare provider fraud, with the goal of protecting the integrity of the Medicaid program.
