Emergency Suspension of Nursing License Ordered After Allegations of Drug Diversion

The New Hampshire Board of Nursing ("Board") has suspended, on an emergency basis, the practical nursing license of Abigail L. Roy of Claremont, NH.

The Board's action is in response to a complaint received from the Director of Nursing at the Cheshire County Nursing Home in Westmoreland, NH as well as information obtained from the Sullivan County Nursing Home, where Ms. Roy was previously employed. The allegations involve drug diversion activity.

On March 20, 2015, the Board issued an Order of Emergency License Suspension and Notice of Hearing. By statute, the Board may order immediate suspension of a license in cases that pose an imminent danger to public health, safety, or welfare.

A Board hearing is currently scheduled for 3:30 pm on Friday, March 27, 2015 for the purpose of determining whether Ms. Roy engaged in professional misconduct and if so, whether it warrants the continuation of the suspension of Ms. Roy's license or the imposition of permanent disciplinary sanctions.

A copy of the Order of Emergency License Suspension and Notice of Hearing is attached. The New Hampshire Board of Nursing is located at 121 South Fruit St. Concord, NH 03301 (603) 271-2323.
