Officer Involved Shooting Incident in Henniker, New Hampshire

New Hampshire Attorney General Joseph A. Foster, State Police Colonel Robert L. Quinn, and Henniker Police Chief Ryan Murdough, announce that an investigation is ongoing in Henniker, New Hampshire.

At approximately 4:20 p.m. today, an alert went out to law enforcement to be on the lookout for a man who had committed a robbery in Franklin, New Hampshire a short time earlier. According to the alert, that man, Aaron Cadman, age 19, had stolen a truck and hit the owner with it before driving off.

At approximately 5:16 p.m., a Henniker police officer spotted the stolen truck driving on Route 202/9 in Henniker. As the officer pursued the truck, the truck collided with another vehicle and crashed in the road.

After the crash, the pursuing Henniker police officer attempted to take Cadman into custody. During that interaction, the Henniker officer fired at least one shot and wounded Cadman in the arm. Cadman was treated at the scene before being transported to the hospital for treatment of an injury to his arm. That injury does not appear to be life threatening.

The Henniker police officer was not physically injured during the incident.

The circumstances that led to the shooting are under investigation.
