Attorney General Joseph A. Foster announces that the New Hampshire Board of Dental Examiners ("Board") has suspended the privilege of Ayman Abusoud Jacobs, DMD to prescribe controlled drugs in the State of New Hampshire, effective immediately. Dr. Jacobs currently practices dentistry in Keene, New Hampshire.

The Board's action is in response to information it obtained from investigators from the New Hampshire Department of Justice indicating that over the course of the last eight months, Dr. Jacobs has issued multiple prescriptions for controlled drugs to his employee/patient who then provided the controlled drugs she received to Dr. Jacobs at his request or direction.

On October 22, 2014, the Board issued an Order of Emergency Suspension of Privilege to Prescribe Controlled Drugs and Notice of Hearing. The order suspended Dr. Jacobs' privilege to prescribe controlled substances until further order of the Board. A Board hearing is currently scheduled for 4:00 pm on November 3, 2014, for the purpose of determining whether Dr. Jacobs engaged in professional misconduct and if so, whether it warrants the continuation of the suspension of his privilege to prescribe controlled drugs, the imposition of permanent disciplinary sanctions, or both.
